Nobuyoshi Araki - Kakyoku

»Kakyoku«

Nobuyoshi Araki was born in Tokyo in 1940. His studies on photography and film at the Chiba University in Tokyo were influenced by the Italian Neorealism and the French Nouvelle Vague.

Many awards and prizes witness an international successful career: winner of the Sun Magazine Photo Competition (1964), prizewinner of the Photographic Society of Japan (1990), Best Japanese Photographer at Hishikawo International Photo Festival (1991) - to name a few!

His works were introduced in solo exhibitions in Tokyo, New York, Los Angeles, London, Köln, Essen and Graz.
