On March 12th, 2009 Winter&Winter opened the new listening and show room at Viktoriastrasse 28 in Munich to present visual and plastic arts and sound installations. The first exhibition in the new show room will present works by the painter Thom Argauer, a close friend of Stefan Winter who was an important figure to scrutinize and to make a critical study of the early works of Winter&Winter.

On March 12th, 2009, the 10th obit of Thom Argauer, a special live concert by Ernst Reijseger is the official opening of the new place.

Thom Argauer was born in Kempten in 1948 on January 4th. From 1970 to 1976 he became student of Karl-Fred Dahmen at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich. After a DAAD scholarship in Paris, he founded the Kunstbüro MehrWert München with Thomas Meissner in 1982. He published the journal "Zeitung Nr. 1" and "Zeitung Nr. 2" and also won the Society of Illustrators' Award (1989).

 

Thom Argauer, married and father of three children, died in Munich on March 12th, 1999.

 

 

 

Am 12. März 2009 fand die offizielle Eröffnung dieses Hör- und SchauRaums für Kunst und Musik statt. Die erste Ausstellung zeigt Arbeiten von Thom Argauer, ein enger Freund von Stefan Winter, der die Umsetzung der ersten Werke von Winter&Winter mit kritischem Blick hinterfragt.

Am 12. März 2009 spielt der holländische Cellist Ernst Reijseger eine Solo-Performance zur Eröffnung der Ausstellung und zum Gedenken an Thom Argauer, der vor zehn Jahren gestorben ist.

Thom Argauer, geboren in Kempten am 4. Januar 1948, studiert bei Karl-Fred Dahmen an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste in München. Nach einem DAAD Stipendium in Paris gründet er 1982 das Kunstbüro MehrWert München zusammen mit Thomas Meissner. Er verlegt "Zeitung Nr. 1" und "Zeitung Nr. 2" und wird mit dem Society of Illustrators' Award (1989) ausgezeichnet.

 

Thom Argauer, verheiratet und Vater von drei Kindern, stirbt am 12. März 1999 in München.
